Overcoming
Last night I had a strange dream. I am sure there were many parts to it, but what I remember is what happened right before I woke up. I was driving in some kind of open vehicle, maybe like a 4-wheeler with a co-worker. His name is Chris and he works in the GIS department. He and I talk occassionally, he's a nice guy and I can't for the life of me figure out WHY he would be sitting next to me in the ATV, which was a two-seater. I was driving the vehicle and he was sitting in the passenger seat. We were coming upon a river. I recall looking down and the sand turned to mud and we came upon a river that was cresting the track/road. The road was more like a railroad track in appearance, was very narrow. We continued forward and as I looked ahead I realized that the muddy river water had completely crested the track. I was very nervous. I don't like water I can't see through and the idea of being pulled by a current is very fightening to me. Coming upon this scene is one of my biggest fears. As we got to the deepest point, where we could no longer see the ledge of the track Chris leaned over the side of the vehicle and grabbed the edge of the track, I presume to make sure we didn't get pulled out by the current. Now the likelihood of something as simple as that working in that particular scenario is quite unlikely but in the dream it seemed perfectly logical. And it worked. We were able to cross the river without incident, aside from getting very wet and muddy. I can only assume that this dream has something to do with facing fears and working through tough situations. Apparently my brain was trying to tell me that everything will come out okay in the end.
