Corn on the Cobb

I was looking at a piece of corn on the cobb. It was already cooked. Someone standing next to me showed me that inside the kernel there was a bug. They told me that if a bug got into the kernel I could tell because the outside would have a little slit. Then you can peel it open and find the bug. I remember thinking "I must have eaten bugs in the past. That's gross, but do I really care?".
